Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the groundworks phase of development as the site lay in an area that may have contained Saxon and/or medieval remains. The village was known to have dated back to Saxon times. During the groundworks a 1.18m sequence of natural deposits, subsoils and topsoil was observed. A quantity of sherds of medieval pottery and 19th and 20th century pottery were recovered from the topsoil. No archaeological features were encountered. [Au(abr)] |
