Abstract: |
Archaeological investigations were carried out in the nave of St Peter de Merton church, Bedford, during the installation of a new heating system. Six phases of activity were identified. Three consecutive episodes of floor renewal were recorded, ranging in date from the late medieval period to the early nineteenth century. Later archaeological deposits were consistent with the additions carried out in the Victorian period. [Au(abr)] |
