Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the cuttng of ducts for fibre optic cabling in the vicinity of the Newarke and through the Castle. This revealed a stone wall of possible medieval date, which may have been part of the eastern wall of the Newarke. The full extent of this feature was not seen. In the bottom of other trenches undated deposits were observed which may have been archaeological, although these could not really be interpreted. [Au] |
