Abstract: |
No medieval remains were encountered during the watching brief, despite the area being shown on a 16th century map. The sunken structural remains discovered were probably 18th century tanning vats or cellars. It was also noted in the report that the area was severely affected by floods in 1920, which may have had an impact on the archaeology. [AIP] |
