Abstract: |
A watching brief during demolition and groundworks associated with the construction of a house found no evidence for the Roman road projected as crossing the site, although evidence for much modern disturbance was located. By process of elimination, it was concluded that the Roman road across Durdham Down may have by-passed the site and ran down Elm Lane, a few metres to the west. [Au(adp)] |
