Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was carried out in order to aid the submission of a planning application for development. The study area incorporated land that had not been greatly disturbed and contained the likely location of the medieval village core centred on and around St. Oswald's Church. Indeed, the presence of earthworks in two fields further supported this notion. Any ground disturbance in this area had the potential to yield medieval archaeology. [Au(adp)] |
