Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment was carried out of a proposed redevelopment site which lay within the precincts of the house of the Austin Friars. Excavations on a site immediately to the north in 1990 had revealed foundations of the friary. Roman features, including a ditch and well, and medieval rubbish pits were also found. It was recommended that an evaluation should take place in areas of the site where basements were proposed. [AIP] |
