Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed the site had been used as the backyards for houses facing the main road during the 19th century. Two probable 19th century pits suggested quarrying and waste disposal in the back plots of Kentish Town Road. Buildings, known from cartographic evidence, were constructed towards the rear of the plots prior to 1870, though no direct evidence of these was uncovered. A garage block was subsequently erected on the site prior to 1952, and recently demolished as part of this development. [Au(abr)] |
