Abstract: |
<summary>An assessment of the proposed site of an office and retail building was carried out. The site lay in close proximity to the findspots of prehistoric flint artefacts, and was adjacent to the junction of a Roman and a medieval road. The northern limits of Saxon {italon}Lundenwic{italoff} were probably in the vicinity, and 16th and 17th century buildings had existed in the area. It was concluded that the site had archaeological potential; the opening of trial-pits to assess survival was suggested. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
