Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during the groundworks associated with the construction of three new dwellings. An unstratified sherd of possible Iron Age date may have been evidence of activity on or near the site in the prehistoric period. Two large pits were recorded which both early contained medieval chert tempered wares. The pits shared a similar rectangular form, but their function was unclear. Both contained a large quantity of slate rubble, which may have come from a demolished building. [Au(adp)] |
