Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed archaeological features of post-medieval and modern date. A number of pits contained quantities of animal bone probably derived from the nearby butchers shop. Evidence of shallow, episodic alluvial deposition from the adjacent Alconbury Brook to the south was recorded in the two southernmost trenches. A recent pit contained sparse quantities of abraded sherds of Roman pottery, likely indicative of activity of this date in the vicinity of the site. [Au(abr)] |
