Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out along a 6.7km length of new water main. Most of the features revealed were related to drainage or were isolated features of unknown date. Two areas of concentrated activity were recorded, both of which had been previously identified by an earlier desk-based assessment. The majority of the finds collected were of post-medieval date, with the exception of a small assemblage of worked flint of possible Mesolithic date, and some sherds of medieval coarse ware pottery.
