Abstract: |
The proposed development site was situated over a potential site of a medieval moated manor house. Both the northern and eastern arms of the moat were identified. A possible cross ditch, which produced three sherds of 12th-14th century pottery, may have divided the site into two enclosures. No structural remains associated with the manor house were found. Within the northern enclosure a wide, shallow pit produced two sherds of 17th-19th century pottery, and an undated linear gully and two undated small pits or gullies were also identified. [Au(abr)] |
