Abstract: |
Archaeological deposits were recorded in all of the trenches. In trenches 3-5, the archaeological features and deposits included short sections of 19th and 20th century walls and a number of post-medieval brick lined drains. The walls and drains were seen to seal a layer of dark grey ashy clay silt, which appeared to represent a post-medieval mixed soil. The one residual sherd of Romano-British pottery recovered from the evaluation reflected the general lack of Romano-British finds on the site. In trenches one and two a substantial north-south construction cut had largely truncated any archaeological deposits. [Au(adp)] |
