The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Eight trenches were excavated, six of which revealed archaeological features. Iron Age pottery was recovered from the fill of a large ditch at the southern end of the site. The size and location of the ditch suggested that it had a defensive function. Roman pottery was recovered from several small pits and ditches, as well as a considerable amounts of iron slag, ash and coal suggestive of smithing or other industrial activity. Two post-medieval features were also recorded. The extent of the Iron Age and Roman site was uncertain. [Au(adp)]
