Abstract: |
<summary>Excavations indicated little activity before the Post-Medieval period, although earlier soil was probably removed through post-medieval and later construction and levelling. The main activity centred around the construction of a house or cottage, probably in the late 17th or early 18th century, shown on a map of 1757. This cottage was replaced by the existing house (which bears a date-stone of 1853) on a slightly different site, with serviceable materials being removed from the demolished cottage. During the present century, the site was levelled and a tennis court created. Subsequently the site was ploughed. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
