Abstract: |
The desk based assessment identified previous site investigations. The Belmont Glass Works was investigated in 1988 and located areas of demolition. There was the potential for the survival of subsidiary buildings connected with the Belmont Glass Works. It was also possible that part of the 'glass cone foundations' may have survived. Part of the Pumping Station still stood above ground. The engine house and the history of the engine and its maintenance had extensive documentation and excavations had taken place; therefore there was a good chance that remains of the Ashted Pumping Station have survived.
