Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring of twenty-one geotechnical trial pits revealed no evidence for archaeological layers. This appeared to reflect the landscaping/levelling operations carried out on the site in the 1930s. Archaeological material (pottery, bone, metal and charcoal) was encountered in five of the pits.
