Abstract: |
Excavations at Chopdike Grove, Gosberton identified four main phases of activity: the first phase was represented by a series of unconnected features, consisting mostly of gullies; the second phase was characterised by a series of ditches and gullies containing ashy fills indicative of burning; the third phase was represented by the remains of a structure, comprising a continuous beam-slot with post holes situated in each corner, associated with which were finds of Middle Saxon date; whilst the final phase was represented by a series of circular or curving ditches of probable Middle Saxon date.
