Abstract: |
An archaeological recording action was carried out in respect to a cable trench, trench 43, related to the installation of new gates. The trench ran for 150m long the hedge line of the south paddock bordering Vyne Road. The remains of a brick culvert were revealed and, further north a brick platform stood adjacent to a gravel surface. The brickwork was broadly dated to the 17th-18th century, although a 17th century date was tentatively suggested for the brick platform. [Au(adp)] |
