Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of the excavation of a single L-shaped trench, was undertaken in response to a planning application. The evaluation revealed a small area of surviving subsoil similar in nature to other soils where Roman activity had been identified. The majority of the site was truncated by the foundation of a modern building, which was shown as standing on current OS base maps of the area, but was encountered during fieldwork only as demolished remains beneath the present turf.
