Abstract:
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of a single storey extension. No archaeological features were revealed. Although the watching brief was negative, it had been a useful exercise by relocating the gallows site to the west and identifying an ancient roadway just west of the Castle running from the Market to Magdalen Street.
