Abstract: |
The assessment identified within the study area, scheduled monuments of a cairn field and the 'Ring of Stones' cairn, both on Ringstone Edge Moor and Slack Roman Fort. Evidence for human activity from the prehistoric period through to the post-medieval was recorded along the proposed water main route. Prehistoric activity was identified in the form of a burial site and find spots. The water main route was also identified as crossing a Roman Road leading to Slack Fort. Medieval and post-medieval settlement patterns relating to agriculture and industrial exploitation were also identified. [Au(Adp)] |
