Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during soil stripping prior to the construction of a bungalow, at a site which lay within the shrunken medieval settlement of Broadwell. Modern pottery was recovered, but no archaeological features or artefacts were observed. This may have been due to the shallow nature of the excavations; foundation trenches were not monitored.
