Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation and watching brief at Longley Park Sheffield, was undertaken prior to and during the construction of the new sixth form college. The work identified the remains of an 18th-century ancillary building, part of the 'Brushouse' complex. Also identified was a structural element of unknown date, pre-dating the ancillary building. A watching brief on 22 foundation trenches, carried out during construction work, was unable to contribute to an understanding of the history and lay-out of the 'Brushouse' complex. [Au] |
