Abstract: |
Two trenches were excavated in advance of a residential development. Roman, medieval and post-medieval occupation evidence was revealed, including disarticulated bone from a Roman pit and early Roman cremation burial. Contemporary boundary and structural activity was noted, as well as Anglo-Saxon pottery and medieval ironworking and horn working evidence. The whole site was overlain by a cobble layer dating to the 18th century and thought to be related to backyard surfaces fronting onto Grange Lane. [Au(abr)] |
