Abstract: |
An evaluation was undertaken at 1-5 Castlefield Road, Reigate as the site falls within an area of archaeological concern to the east of the remains of medieval Reigate Castle. No featues relating to Reigate Castle were found, this would suggest that the line of the outer moat runs either under or close to the present (Grade II Listed) Town Hall. Modern service trenches, late-medieval or post-medieval field boundary ditches, a post-medieval pit and two undatable post-holes were also discovered. [AIP] |
