Abstract: |
<summary>A large area was evaluated prior to gravel extraction. Significant archaeology was recovered from the Medieval, Roman, Bronze Age and, particularly, Iron Age periods. A settlement of mid Iron Age date was revealed with several round houses and enclosures, and there was good potential for environmental evidence in some of this site's features. Several barrows were also identified. Interestingly, the sites previously interpreted from aerial photographs were not found. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
