Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of a planning application for the expansion of Chipping Hill Infants School, Witham. The evaluation revealed medieval deposits, comprising linear features and pits within the development area. The features related to the medieval settlement of Chipping Hill. A small assemblage of prehistoric artefacts was found redeposited in medieval ditch fills indicating prehistoric activity in the area. [Au] |
