Abstract:
An evaluation consisting of three small trenches was undertaken to the south of the village of Ellingham. Although extant earthworks were visible within the study area, the evaluation revealed only natural accumulations of material and modern disturbances. In order to mitigate against any loss of archaeological information, a watching brief during any subsequent ground disturbance was recommended. In addition, a programme of metrical survey of visible earthworks within the study area was also recommended. [Au(abr)]
