Abstract: |
The internal and external surfaces of the east wall of a church tower dating from c.1650 were examined and photographed prior to the creation of a doorway. The church itself dated from the 13th century. It was concluded that the work would not have disturbed any evidence for earlier structural alterations; the door was cut through an untouched area of original mid-17th century masonry. Drain trenches and soakaways were also excavated around the church, but it was not possible to monitor these. [Au(abr)] |
