Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of nine holes at the site of a new Dutch barn, constructed to replace a shed. The site lay within the Deserted Medieval Village of Wootton. During the watching brief, two small features which may have been stake holes were observed. These were not likely to predate the 19th or 20th century. No evidence for the medieval village was encountered, and it was noted that no earthworks were visible within a flat pasture field to the south. [Au(abr)] |
