Abstract: |
Archaeological excavation on the site of the former Chadwick Hall confirmed the presence of substantial architectural remains which related to the late medieval hall. The northern part of the solar wing and a possible staircase tower were identified. No artefactual evidence was recovered with which to conclusively date the construction of the hall. Modern demolition rubble was removed from the remainder of the building, and the exposed foundations were then buried. [Au(abr)] |
