Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken of the archaeological implications of proposed infilling of areas of a disused china-clay works. The site was found to comprise a multi-phase extractive industrial landscape containing features dating from circa 1600 to circa 1940. Features identified included dumps, watercourses, reservoirs, tramways, openworks, adits, shafts, waterwheels, settling pits, settling tanks, and mica drags. [Au] |
