Abstract: |
The excavation revealed a concentrated area of prehistoric and later activity cut into river terrace gravels. This included a large sub-rectangular feature and associated post holes and pits dating to the Early Iron Age. The Late Iron Age period was also represented by pits, stake holes and gullies as well as a north-south orientated ditch, with two further ditches and a pit also dating to the Roman period. The post-medieval period was represented by two east-west orientated intercutting gullies and the southern side of a quarry pit. [Au(abr)] |
