Abstract: |
During the course of archaeological monitoring of topsoil stripping prior to construction works, a limited number of industrial features dating to the post-medieval and later periods were identified. A total of four mineshafts were recorded alongside a raised post-medieval trackway embankment. Several sherds of 19th century pottery were recovered from the basal deposit of the trackway. The continuation of a shallow ditch or gully, containing 18th-19th century pottery (and some earlier material), was identified which had previously been recorded during earlier archaeological works to the north.
