Abstract: |
Three machine trenches were excavated to evaluate land proposed for development. Substantial modern disturbance was identified in all three trenches, although post-medieval features identified comprised a west-facing cellar wall, a brick-lined shallow drain, and a stiff yellow clay floor surface. A bell-shaped pit with layers of cess-like material in the base and containing both post-medieval pottery and a single sherd of 11th/12th century pottery was also identified. [Auth adap] |
