Abstract: |
The results from the watching brief, whilst limited in nature, shed a little light on the development of St. Olave's Church. It was noticeable that all of the visible offsets and buttresses were positioned along the eastern walls of the church, the ground was possibly less stable beneath the eastern side of the church, the walls requiring a greater level of support. It was considered just possible that the offsets related to an earlier building, one of them being on a different alignment to the wall proper. [Au(adp)] |
