Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of nine 1.3m by 2m geotechnical test pits as an evaluation of the site prior to the proposed retail development. These observations suggested that there was a potential for the survival of archaeological deposits on the site. The proposed development was likely to remove nearly all of these potential remains. There was little to suggest that any of these deposits were likely to date earlier than the 16th century. [Au(adp)] |
