Abstract: |
The watching brief was carried out during groundworks for a new garage within the grounds of a house, which was mainly of 15th century origin. A moat had once divided the site from the nearby church, but it was not known whether or not it had originally encircled the house. During the watching brief a possible tree throw was noted, but no evidence of a moat or any other feature of archaeological significance was found. A small amount of post-medieval pottery was recovered. [AIP] |
