Abstract:
An archaeological watching brief undertaken during groundworks associated with a residential development revealed three pit features on the site of a mid-19th century tannery. At least two of the pits were probably associated with the tannery, although the third and largest pit may have predated the tannery complex. Pottery recovered from the site was predominantly 17th-18th century in date. [Au(abr)]
