Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during the extension of the quarry. Post-medieval field drains and an undated pit were revealed. More significant was the recovery of forty unstratified lithics, including 6 cores, 4 scrapers and a possible knife fragment. It was thought that many of the lithics came from the Beer region of south-east Devon. None of the implements were particularly diagnostic although it was reasonable to attest them to the Late Neolithic or earlier Bronze Age period. The flint assemblage suggested some degree of prehistoric activity in the immediate area. [AIP] |
