Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the groundworks involved in the redevelopment of the site. In addition to this watching brief four boreholes were carried out in advance of the groundworks to assess the archaeo-environmental potential of the site. The archaeological sequence consisted of alluvium including a layer of peat with possible prehistoric potential and represented a small estuary from the confluence of the former rivers Tyburn and Westbourne. No archaeological remains were revealed during the groundwworks. [Au(adp)] |
