Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during clearance of a former tyre depot in advance of a proposed mixed development. In addition monitoring was undertaken during trenching carried out in an unsuccessful attempt to identify the position of a 19th century coal mine shaft. A photographic record was also made of a post-medieval stone retaining wall running along the western edge of the plot. No significant archaeological features were identified during the work.
