Abstract: |
The site of the proposed development at Witton Hall was considered to have the potential to contain the preserved remains of a medieval or possibly earlier manor house and associated water features. The existence of a medieval manor house in Witton could be confidently traced from the documentary evidence and it was considered likely that this was located on, or close to, the development site. The remains of 18th century or earlier buildings which appeared on maps of the 18th and 19th centuries were considered to be at risk from the development. [Au(abr)] |
