Abstract: |
The evaluation consisted of four trenches which revealed evidence of 18th and 19th century ground levelling, overlain with 19th century brick walls, drains and surface. The levelling layers directly overlay the natural brickearth, encountered at between 3.83 to 3.21m OD. No evidence of the medieval or early post-medieval village was encountered in the course of the evaluation, nor was there any indication of earlier activity on the site. [Au(abr)] |
