Abstract: |
The evaluation was undertaken during the demolition and redevelopment of the site. Seven evaluation trenches were excavated but revealed no surviving archaeological remains. They did, however, show natural brickearth in five trenches overlying terrace gravels. Modern make-up deposits and concrete overlay the brickearth. No earlier deposits or finds were encountered, apart from one flint flake, which may have suggested some activity near the site in the prehistoric period. [Au(abr)] |
