Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief, monitoring the groundworks of a development at 1 Park Lane, Saffron Walden, identified no archaeological features. It is probable that the absence of archaeological features was due to disturbance caused by the construction of the cellars for a line of Victorian terrace houses, identified on the OS map of 1877, which were located along the frontage of Park Lane and in the area of the development site.
