Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundation trenches at a site which lay near a parish church, which was likely to have been a focus for medieval settlement. An undated paved surface had been excavated at an adjacent property. During the watching brief, two sherds of 14th or 15th century pottery were recovered, and a fragment of a Victorian tombstone was found. Victorian rubbish and building debris were also observed, and a brick wall which probably related to buildings depicted on the 1886 Ordnance Survey map was recorded. [Au(abr)] |
