Abstract: |
An archaeological observation during topsoil stripping at Hill Farm was undertaken in order to fulfil a condition on planning permission for development of the site which lay within the medieval village of Brandon. An earlier evaluation had revealed evidence for 13th century activity in the form of pits and a ditch and gully in the western part of the site. The watching brief revealed a large amount of 12th-13th century pottery and some post-medieval pottery and metal objects. A small amount of prehistoric worked flint, including a possible Neolithic end-scraper, was also recovered. [Au(adp)] |
